Properate Named to Inaugural Proptech 30 List by Proptech Collective
We’re excited to share that Properate has been recognized by the Proptech Collective as one of the inaugural Proptech 30. This list recognizes forward-thinking Canadian companies driving innovation in real estate and construction. Properate was recognized for its role in improving the energy performance of Canadian homes.
Canada’s real estate and construction sectors are undergoing rapid transformation. The residential building sector alone accounts for 47% of total building-related emissions in Canada, creating growing pressure to reduce its environmental impact by retrofitting existing homes and constructing more sustainable new ones. At the same time, the housing crisis is driving demand for more affordable options — including homes that are energy-efficient, thus cheaper to operate. Buildings must also be adapted to withstand the growing risks of climate change, from extreme heat to flooding. Meeting these intersecting challenges demands innovation beyond traditional methods, which is where PropTech is rising to the occasion.
PropTech, or property technology, refers to the platforms and solutions developed to build, manage, and interact with real estate. As a national association supporting innovation in this space, Proptech Collective launched the Proptech 30 to spotlight companies leading this change. The selection criteria for the Proptech 30 include:
- Innovation: Demonstrating originality and technical advancement in their solutions
- Impact: Showing measurable results within the industry and broader societal benefits
- Growth: Evidencing traction through customer adoption and business momentum
Despite buildings being one of Canada’s top sources of greenhouse gas emissions, adoption of home energy efficiency solutions remains low. By making home energy efficiency simple and accessible at every level — from rebate program managers to HVAC professionals to homeowners — Properate helps make energy upgrades easier, whether you’re designing smarter incentives, conducting home energy audits, or planning retrofit projects.
